Hello...my first blog ever :) I just spent the past week reading Catherine55's blog from day one till today... so so so inspiring! I love your story Catherine (if you're reading this)...you sound absolutly wonderful and I am so happy for you to have found Steve....
Here is my story for now: I was always a good weight until I had my first child... I gained a lot of weight at that time and kept most of it on until I had my second. About two years after my daughter was born, I started Weight Watchers, excercising and these funky chinese pills with magnets behind the ear. I was able to lose 50 pounds in 7 months! Yey! I was the happiest Mom you could see - I felt like I owned the world. I wanted to see everyone and go everywhere. I kept the weight off for about 4 years.
Than I quit smoking. A big accomplishment, but with that came all the pounds running back...I am now back up 45 pounds and my BMI is 30.3. I gained this weight while still doing WW off and on, excercising with a trainer, boxing, treadmills etc.... it looks like no matter what I do, I just keep on gaining and gaining....
Recently, my neighbour, who was alwasy overweight, started losing and losing weight... I kept telling her she looks great and how is she doing it.... her answer was just "I'm eating less".... I'm sure you ladies know where this is going.... I had no idea! A year has gone by and that neighbour keeps on shrinking.... finally this past January I said to her again....please tell me how you are able to take that weight off.... I guess I broke her down, because she came over and told me the secret! Since than I have been on every blog and you tube video researching this Band thing.
I am scheduled to have it done in two weeks! Nervous as hell - but excited that maybe I can finally come back to myself :)
congratulations on your upcoming journey! I had a similar story, a neighbor kept losing weight and I asked her how she was doing it and she said the weigh less thing too, then I went to an informational seminar for weight loss surgery and she was on the panel. I didn't blame her for not advertising what she was doing, people can be so judgmental. But I'm glad she and I met because she's become very inspirational and is now my mentor.
ReplyDeleteI plan on getting my surgery (VSG) in June. Looking forward to reading your progress!
That's a funny story :) It is great to know someone in real life that has had it and was successful with it :)
DeleteExcuse my igonorance...but what is VSG :) ?
